Sign-in problems

Sign-in is email-only: a magic link (we email you a one-tap sign-in link) or an email + password. Both reach the same account if they use the same address.
Magic link not arriving
- Give it two minutes; satellite and marina mail can lag.
- Check spam/junk for mail from
watchkeeper.me. - Make sure you typed the address your account was created with — the link goes wherever you typed, and a typo'd address fails silently.
- Request a fresh link; links expire, and only the newest one counts.
"I used to sign in with Google"
The Google and Microsoft buttons were removed in July 2026 to simplify the page. Your account still exists: request a magic link to the same Gmail/Outlook address and you're in — same account, same data. Set a password afterwards in Settings if you prefer passwords.
Password not working
Use the magic-link option to get in, then set a new password in Settings. That's the reset flow — being email-based, it also proves account ownership.
New device, no connection
A device that has never signed in needs a live connection for the first sign-in — there's no way around that, it's what keeps your logbook private. This is why the pre-departure drill says to sign in on every device you might use before leaving coverage. Mid-passage on a dead link, use a device that's already signed in.
Locked out and heading offshore soon
Email support@watchkeeper.me from the address on the account and say when you're leaving — lockouts before a departure jump the queue. The contact form works too, but plain email is fine and works from satellite mail clients.
