Export your logbook

Your logbook is yours. Every export below works on every plan, including free — and if you ever cancel, we'll point you here first so nothing is left behind.

Export one passage

On any passage page, the export buttons produce:

• CSV — for spreadsheets and your own analysis
• PDF — a formatted logbook for insurers, surveyors, or the shelf
• TXT — plain text, smallest possible file
• Markdown — for blogs, wikis, or your own notes system

Export everything at once

From the logbook screen you can pull a ZIP archive of every passage — including completed and archived ones — in any or all of the formats above. This is the right tool before cancelling, before a long refit, or just as an annual backup.

The fine print on Coastal

The free plan shows (and exports) your last 30 days of log history. Completed passages beyond your cap stay stored — nothing is ever deleted — but exporting the deep history needs a paid plan, which you can hold for a single month if all you want is one big archive.

Full account export (GDPR)

Settings → Privacy → Export my data produces a JSON file of everything on your account — every entity, not just logs. It's machine-readable rather than pretty; use the logbook exports for anything human-facing.

What about GPX?

GPX is currently upload-only (for routes and recorded tracks on a passage). There's no GPX export yet — if you need one for your chartplotter workflow, tell us; demand is how features get prioritized.
