Set up your shore crew

A tracker dot says where the boat is. It says nothing about how she's doing, what the weather did, or that you're fine and eating noodles. The Shore Brief fills that gap: twice a day WatchKeeper reads the log, the position, and the weather, and writes your people at home a calm, readable update. No app for them to install, no jargon, no drama.

Add a contact

1. Go to Contacts → Add contact.
2. Enter their name and email, and tick Receives shore briefs. Family, buddy boats, the dockmaster who worries — anyone who should hear from the boat.
3. Mark one contact Primary — that's who search-and-rescue paperwork points at, and who the arrival notice leads with.

Put them on a passage

1. On the contact card, choose the passage they should follow.
2. That's the whole subscription. Briefs for that passage now include them.

What they'll get

Briefs go out twice daily on schedule while the passage is Underway. The Shore Updates page shows the schedule, the recipients, and every brief already sent, so you can read exactly what your people read. When you flip the passage to Arrived, an arrival notice goes out automatically — details in Shore briefs and arrival notices.

Send your float plan before you slip lines

1. Make sure your emergency contacts are entered, with one marked Primary.
2. On any passage plan, Submit to shore contacts emails your float plan — route, timing, vessel details, and who to call — to your people before you leave.
