Teach Skipper AI your boat's manuals
Last updated Mon Jul 27 2026 00:00:00 GMT+0000 (Coordinated Universal Time)
Every boat carries her documentation, and nobody can find anything in it at 0300. Skipper AI fixes that: feed it your manuals and it answers from them, citing the manual name and page number so you can check its work. With no manuals uploaded it still knows seamanship, COLREGs, weather, and first aid cold.
Add a manual
- Go to Skipper AI, then Add in the Manual library.
- Upload the PDF. Files straight from the manufacturer's site work fine.
- Give it a minute to index — after that it's part of every answer.
Ask
- Type the question the way you'd ask a rigger: "what impeller does the watermaker take" beats formal search terms.
- Answers come back with citations to your manuals, page numbers included.
- Leave Passage context on and it folds in your current passage — position, conditions, what's in the log — when the question calls for it.
